Last night I met some fellow San Diego bloggers at the San Diego Bloggers Meetup at Cafe Bassam. This was my first time meeting up with fellow San Diegans with common blogging interests, and I was more than impressed with the turnout. The meeting structure was informal, although a lot of that was due to the constricted confines, and the ambiance was frothy (my latte was fabulous) and friendly.

All of last week I was dying to make cupcakes. I’m a frosting fanatic, and cupcakes are my favorite form of satisfying my frosting fix. I think one of the greatest things about modern America is the computerization of medical records. As a volunteer sheriff, I can look up anyone’s psychiatric records or surgical histories. Suit vs IT Guy

This ad really bugs me.

Especially when the guy in the suit snidely says,

“The point of innovation is to make actual money.”

My inner geek is offended.

The attitude reeks and so does the staged dichotomy. In the commercial the suit is portrayed as the omniscient being, and the poorly attired IT guy (geek) is lacking business sense. In the real world the guy with the avatar is also the guy connecting with his peers using various types of social media. He may not always be…
