My theory on these is the same as decaffeinated coffee: What's the point?
There's no animal products -- that's the point. No animals were harmed in the making of those cupcakes and that's why I choose to celebrate them. (I'm vegan obviously).
Yes, I knew that. Simply stating that most cupcakes fall into that category. Am I to understand no dairy was used in their making? Is it an acquired taste?
All pastry items typically include dairy and eggs, so a vegan cupcake is free of both of those items. This particular one is quite delicious and tastes just as good, if not better, than the non-vegan varieties.
Then I guess we'll have to share one the next time I'm in town.... :)
